SGS has extended its global furniture fire testing capabilities with acquisition earlier this year of Govmark Fire Laboratories in Farmingdale, New York. The inclusion of this specialist fire-resistance and ‘reaction-to-fire’ testing company into its network of testing facilities, enhances SGS’s capabilities with regards to furniture testing, making it the one-stop solution for all safety and compliance testing requirements.

With its acquisition, on September 1, 2017, Govmark joins SGS’s other furniture flammability testing centers in India and England, and Anji and Shunde, in China.
